the girl on my inspiration board
so i got my haircut the other day, and it occurred to me today that it is the haircut of the girl on my inspiration board.
some background: forever ago i started making inspiration boards, only i didn't call them that until i watched "the secret." they are clipping from magazines mostly, but also cards, printouts, do-dads, anything to inspire whatever i want to inspire. sometimes i don't even know why i hang a clipping; i just like it.
like the girl in the striped blazer.
i cut her out of a magazine a year or two ago, and i could never figure out why. i liked her look, i liked her style, but nothing really jumped out at me. until today. even though i took in a pic of a totally different cut, my stylist ended up giving me the hair of the girl on my inspiration board. and it hit me. she is me - the me i want to be. fun, short hair, a coy half smile to the camera, striped blazer, thin, confident. she is the ideal image i have in my head of me-as-a-writer. subconscously i ended up asking for her hair cut. now i'm in pursuit of her body.
speaking of writing, i have 40 pages written now of my main novel. yay!
